#Edo former Speaker’s wife‎ Hassana Garuba kidnapped - vanguard

The Police in Edo has confirmed the abduction of Mrs Hassana Garuba, wife of former Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly. Garuba, a serving Magistrate in the state, was ‎kidnapped at Obadan village near Ogbemudia Farms on the Benin-Okenne-Lokoja road on Tuesday ‎morning.‎

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Edo, Mr Abiodun Osifo, confirmed the abduction. Osifo said the police were working hard to locate and set her free. “The matter has been reported. Our men are combing the area where the incident happened‎ with a view to securing her release and arrest those responsible.

“We have deployed the necessary machinery, including electronic devices to secure her release’’, Osifo said.
Garuba was said to be travelling to Ehor where she is a Magistrate when she was kidnapped along with other persons yet to be identified. ‎‎A family source said the kidnappers had not contacted them.
