President Muhammadu Buhari has been criticised heavily by Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, on how he reacted to the herdsmen killings happening in the country, Punch reported.
Soyinka expressed shock over how Buhari claimed the attacks would be over soon.
He said government had fallen short when it came to providing reassurance to Nigerians.
Soyinka also said that signs were clearly there when cult killings increased over a year ago but government did not take it seriously.
Failure to react to warning signs allowed the situation to further increase in violence, he said.
