
The French and Japanese governments have undertaken a joint venture to invest N197 billion to the construction of a new state of the art mono rail project in Lagos State.
The mono rail project will reconfirm Lagos' status as a mega city as well as improving it's infrastructure. The city is viewed by many as the economic and entertainment hub of Nigeria.
The state government has also secured N19.7 billion from the french government towards upgrading the slums within the state.
Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Akinyemi Ashade said that the ever increasing population in the state was putting a strain on the infrastructure of the state, and was forcing the government to seek partnerships with other governments to improve the standard of living.
