Justin Bieber, 22, did NOT have a good experience while trying to enjoy a chill day out in Boston on May 10 — and it’s all because some fans got way too into his personal space. It seems that this incident is what pushed him into making his new ‘no pictures’ policy that has Beliebers incredibly upset.
The Biebs and his entourage were spending the afternoon at Lucky Strike in Boston, where they were given their own back room to enjoy some privacy. However, an overzealous family wanted some face time with the singer, and eventually confronted him, “demanding photos, implying they were deserved because they had bought Justin’s album,” according to a rep for Lucky Strike.
It wasn’t long after this happened that Justin took to Instagram to explain his new policy about fan photos, and it definitely matches up with this story.
“If you happen to see me out somewhere know that I’m not gonna take a picture I’m done taking pictures,” he wrote. “It has gotten to the point that people won’t even say hi to me or recognize me as a human, I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity. I realize people will be disappointed but I don’t owe anybody a picture. and people who say “but I bought ur album” know that you got my album and you got what you paid for AN ALBUM! It doesn’t say in fine print whenever you see me you also get a photo.”
This decision comes a few weeks after Justin decided to cancel all meet and greets on his Purpose tour, so fans are obviously incredible disappointed. It’s unfortunate that thousands of fans have to suffer because a select few have been so disrespectful, but we can totally understand where the Biebs is coming from.
“If you think seeing boundaries is being a douche I’m the biggest douche around but I think it’s smart and will be the only way I last,” he explained. “I wanna enjoy life and not be a slave to the world and their demands of what they think I need to do!!” Well said!
