Police launch probe after dad and daughter found dead inside house in Merseyside - Mirror

Police have launched an investigation after a dad and his daughter were found dead inside a house in Merseyside.

The 85-year-old man and 47-year-old woman were found in the property on College Road, Crosby, this afternoon.

The Liverpool Echo reports police are treating both their deaths as "unexplained" but added there is not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

The alarm was raised this afternoon at 4pm after it was reported that the pair had not been seen for a number of days.

Police said the investigation was in its early stages, and different lines of enquiry were being considered.

Post-mortem examinations will be carried out on both bodies to establish how they died.

Firefighters wearing oxygen masks were seen entering the property, while National Grid engineers were also at the scene.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: “The investigation is in its early stages and both deaths are being treated as unexplained.

“At this stage there is nothing to indicate that the deaths are suspicious, however post mortems will be carried out to find the cause of death for both of the deceased.

“Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service is also assisting with the investigation."
