Speaking in an interview in Gwagwalada on Wednesday, Dauda advised that government policies should be clearly communicated to the people, adding that there should be periodic interaction with the people.
“I think we should not throw away everything that the past administration has done like the Presidential Media Chat.
“If the Government could brief the public on its policies and predicament, it will go a long way to move the country forward.”
Commenting on the budgetary allocation to the education sector, Dauda said that the amount appropriated was small when compared to the past three years.
“It is clear that the allocation to education is less than what was appropriated in the last three years; so one can say that we need more allocation to the education sector.
“But we assume that with the nature of the leadership that is very honest in terms of integrity and incorruptibility, if the resource allocated is fully released and well utilised, it will improve the sector.
“Take the primary school level for instance, the situation is not too encouraging because in some states, primary school teachers have not been paid for some months.
“ Primary education is the foundation of the educational system and once it is weak, it means we are not making a head way.
“So, if what is allocated to education is properly implemented, it will improve the sector,’’ the don said.
