Leslie Jones Opens Up About #Internet Trolls and Clarifies Her #Twitter Departure: "I'm Used to the Insults" - E!

Leslie Jones is rising above the hate.

The Ghostbusters star stopped by the Late Night With Seth Meyers Thursday and opened up about the bullying she experienced earlier this week on Twitter. After seemingly calling it quits with the social medium, Jones returned to Twitter and clarified to host Seth Meyers that she didn't mean to quit.

"They said I left Twitter! I didn't leave!" she declared. But she did weigh in on what really shook her about this week's pandemonium—and it might surprise you in the saddest way. "What's scary about the whole thing is that the insults didn't hurt me. Unfortunately, I'm used to the insults. That's unfortunate," she explained. "What scared me was the injustice of a gang of people jumping against you for such a sick cause."

She continued, "Everyone has an opinion and it all comes at you one time and they really believe in what they believe in, and it's so mean. Like it's so gross and mean and unnecessary."

The Saturday Night Live star also revealed that when she approached Facebook, the company took care of the trolls right away, but with Twitter there was a bit of an issue. "If I didn't say anything nobody would've known about this," she said, before adding that she talked to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

"It's just Jack," she joked, (hopefully) alluding to the famous Will and Grace bit.

Jones also compared the incident in a comical way to going to her favorite restaurant and watching three people get shot. "You need to up your security!"
