Chris Brown won joint custody of daughter Royalty by leaps and bounds in court, with a judge dismissing every single one of Nia Guzman’s demands! Despite Nia’s best efforts, Chris still gets to see Royalty on the regular!
Nia Guzman was denied full custody of her daughter, Royalty Brown, 2, and will instead have to continue to comply with the current arrangement — joint custody with Royalty’s father, Chris Brown, 27. Nia wasn’t just requesting full custody of Royalty; she had a number of demands that she took to court, and lost on all fronts, according to TMZ.
With full custody of Royalty, Nia wanted Chris to only have monitored visitation with his daughter. Denied. She wanted to bar Chris’ mother, Joyce Hawkins, from ever seeing her granddaughter. Also denied. And, she wanted Chris to submit to to drug tests, though it’s unclear how frequently she requested. But again, denied. Chris is still going to see his little girl 12 days a month, just like he already does!
Nia was completely annihilated in court by Chris’ lawyers and the judge preceding over the case. Ouch; that has to be a major blow.
But wait — there’s more! When Nia filed her legal documents asking for the custody hearing, the judge ordered Chris to give $20,000 to be able to afford a lawyer. The judge has now decided that since Nia lost on all her counts, she must pay Chris back in full. Wow!
Furthermore, Nia had also filed a separate suit against Chris, asking him to increase her child support payments from $2500 a month to a staggering $16,000. She has since dropped the petition. We’re just astounded by the outcome of this trial.
