Matt Null: Fox News Remembers CNN Producer Who Died On Vacation — Watch Memoriam

This is so unbelievably sad. Senior CNN producer, Matt Null died suddenly on Aug. 15, while on vacation. On Aug 19, his former and current colleagues remembered their friend in a heartfelt news memoriam. See the video here.

Fox News, Matt Null’s former employer, aired a brief video clip in memory of the producer. The video began with a sweet image of Matt smiling with the year of his birth and death under him.
Greta Van Susteren, 62, host on the Fox-owned show, Greta’s Off The Record, addressed viewers to express her deepest remorse for the loss of Matt, whom she used to work side by side with at Fox.
“When I read the news that he had died on vacation it stopped me in my tracks,” Greta said. “Horrible news for his family, his friend, and for those of us who knew him and feel the loss.”

Greta went on to shut down any rumors of an ongoing feud between Fox and Matt’s current employer before he died, CNN. She explained that although Matt announced that he would be transferring to CNN in 2012, he was still viewed as a beloved member of their family.

Greta then turned the attention to CNN anchor at the time of his passing, Christine Romans. “He is literally the voice in our head every morning. ” Christine said, seeming like she was trying to hold back tears. “When terrible things happen around the world, he is the one who brings it to you with calm and fairness. He is some one who really made difference in the world through his job.” Wow, that is so devastating.

Matt died suddenly while he was vacationing in Barcelona, as HollywoodLife.com previously reported. Little is known about his cause of death at this time however. Although he was pronounced dead on Aug. 15, the news didn’t break until Aug. 18. He was only 34 years of age at the time of his death.

Our hearts go out to Matt’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
