Nothing overly exciting there – except when you see Raisman’s parents watching her uneven bars routine during the Rio Games.
In a moment of gold caught by TV cameras, Lynn and Rick Raisman can be shown watching their daughter – almost in sheer terror.
The two parents seem to go through every emotion as they watch Aly compete.
At first Lynn can’t watch.
Then she grabs Rick’s – at this point calm – arm.
The she covers her face and grabs him again, two, three times.
Now Rick is nervous and leans forward in his chair.
Then the pair of them simultaneously lean all the way back.
Rick then shouts something before the pair rise, again in tandem, to clap and cheer their daughter as Rick shouts ‘let’s go’.
Raisman, 22, is part of a Team USA squad expected to win gold in the event.
She was a part of the squad that won gold at London 2012, also adding an individual gold in the floor exercise and another bronze in the team balance beam four years ago.
Raisman also has two World Championship golds, another silver and a bronze..@Aly_Raisman mom is literally me every time I watch @USAGym #Olympics2016 pic.twitter.com/lRWY2qbUaZ— katie. (@katelyndhall_) August 8, 2016
The final of the event takes place on Tuesday night.
