Ryan Lochte Apologizes For Robbery Lie: I Accept ‘Responsibility’ For My ‘Behavior’

Ryan Lochte is finally taking responsibility for lying about being robbed in Brazil last weekend. The swimmer took to Twitter to issue a lengthy apology for the situation .

Although Ryan Lochte, 32, never flat-out admitted he lied about his story from the night of the robbery, he did accept responsibility for his actions and admit he wasn’t totally ‘candid’ when describing the events.

“I want to apologize for my behavior last weekend — for not being more careful and candid in how I describe the events of that early morning and for my role in taking the focus away from the many athletes fulfilling their dreams of participating in the Olympics,” he wrote.
“I waited to share these thoughts until it was confirmed that the legal situation was addressed and it was clear that my teammates would be arriving home safely.” Read his full apology here:
