A GUNMAN fired into a family’s home in the early hours of Sunday morning, while two children cowered inside.
Police are now investigating the targeted attack at the Salford home, saying it could have had “devastating consequences”.
Det Inspector Kenny Blain, of Greater Manchester Police’s Salford borough, said: “This could have had devastating consequences especially because there were two young children in the house at the time.
“Thankfully no one was injured but this would have been extremely frightening for the family.”
The home, on Hilton Lane in Worsley, was shot at about 1.40am on Sunday.
Det Insp Blain said that police were now door-knocking the area to find out more.
He said: “We are treating it as a targeted attack and have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area.
“I would like to reassure the public we are doing everything possible to find those responsible and have extra patrols in the area.”
Insp Blain said that anyone who knew information to come forward.
Police investigations are continuing.
