And according to E!, that's exactly what happened Monday night at the swanky Hotel Costes in the French capital.
The Canadian singer, 26, was having dinner with some friends including actor Ryan Philippe, the website reported Tuesday, when Bella, 20, dropped by to say hello.
The daughter of former Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster and multi-millionaire Mohamed Hadid was with some girlfriends.
A source told E!: 'Bella sat next to The Weeknd and spoke for a little while to him. They were really cool with each other.'
'Bella was in a great mood, smiling and seemed really happy while being there.'
The former couple had dated for a year and a half before calling it quits in October.
They were reportedly finding it difficult to keep the relationship going due to their busy schedules.
On Wednesday, Bella will walk in the lingerie spectacular that is being taped for broadcast on CBS Monday, while The Weeknd will perform during the show.
Bella arrived in Paris Sunday with pal Kendall Jenner and the Victoria's Secret Angels after flying in from New York on a private jet.
Her older sister Gigi Hadid, 21, is also slated to walk in the VS Fashion Show along with Alessandra Ambrosio, Joan Smalls, Sara Sampaio, Elsa Hosk, Lily Aldridge, Lily Donaldson and others.
