NIGERIA VS S/A AFTERMATH! NFF Borrowed Ball From South Africans For The Match

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) borrowed balls from their South African counterparts for the game between Nigeria and South Africa.
Nigeria were on Saturday, June 10 beaten 2-0 by South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

During the game, Nigerians were surprised when they saw ‘RSA’ –meaning the Republic of South Africa- written on the balls used for the game. It has been discovered that the NFF had to borrow balls from the South Africans to prosecute the game.

According to Oluwashina Okeleji of BBC, this was because the NFF balls did not arrive Uyo for the game.

It was with the balls that Bafana Bafana beat the Super Eagles with two second half unreplied goals to record their first win over Nigeria in a competitive game.

Tokelo Rantie’s header put South Africa in the lead in the 55th minute before Percy Tau’s late goal sealed the win.
