Katie Price 'loses £5k from terrifying carjacking after failing to insure her belongings'.

Katie Price has reportedly lost £5,000 from her terrifying carjacking in South Africa, amid her recent financial woes.

According to The Sun, the reality star, 40, failed to correctly insure the goods that were stolen from her car by drug-crazed attackers, while she was filming for her reality show with kids Princess and Junior back in April.

The loss marks yet another blow for the star, who narrowly avoided bankruptcy last week - causing her ex-husband Peter Andre to 'offer a helping hand' amid her difficult time.

The paper claims the police have now dropped the case - which saw Katie robbed of numerous electrical items, including laptops and mobile phones, as well as thousands of pounds in cash while abroad.

Only making things worse, it has now been claimed the former I'm A Celebrity star did not have sufficient insurance on her belongings, meaning she could lose up to £5,000 from the trauma.

The exact amount lost depends on the insurance of her production company, who joined her on the trip to film her reality series Katie Price: My Crazy Life.

MailOnline has contacted representatives of Katie for comment.

Katie and her children Princess, ten, and Junior, 12, were the victims of the brutal carjacking in South Africa back in April.

All three were thrown out their vehicle by the attackers during their journey from Johannesburg to Swaziland in two people carriers.
