Channel 4 have unveiled the 12 home-bakers competing in the ninth season of The Great British Bake Off, due to hit screens next week.
And, as ever, it's an eclectic mix of amateur cooks, including a banker, a scientist, a blood courier and a Techno DJ.
The series - which will be the show's second outing on new broadcaster Channel 4 - returns with the same judges and presenters as last year: Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith, Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig.
There’s already a favourite in this year’s series – a French competitor who has shared her impressive bakes online.
Manon Lagreve, 26, has posted pictures of her intricate creations, including a white chocolate dome filled with pistachio mousse and with a financier base, a white chocolate and matcha fondant, and chocolate eclairs.
Her tarte tatin recipe has even appeared on the Great British Bake Off’s website in a section where fans can submit their own dishes. Hinting the London-based software project manager, from a small village in Brittany, will go far in the Channel 4 competition, her best friend wrote on Instagram that she has ‘very big life changes coming up’.
One of the new batch of hopefuls will be taking home the coveted title of Bake Off champion, won last year by Sophie Faldo, who was infamously announced as the winner by judge Prue before the final had aired.
The TV chef - who replaced Mary Berry in the move to Channel 4 - accidentally tweeted 'Bravo Sophie' 12 hours prior to the last episode in the season airing on TV, confusing the time difference between the UK and India [where she was at the time].
Producers will surely be giving Prue extra reminders this time around to keep the results close to her chest - and to stay well away from Twitter on finale night, which airs in the late Autumn.
So who are this year's aspiring bakers, looking to follow in the footsteps of Sophie, Nadiya Hussain, Candice Brown and Nancy Birtwhistle.
