Presenter fights back tears as she appears on TV with hair for the first time in 13 years

Gail Porter appeared on TV with hair for the first time in over a decade on Monday.

Having announced earlier this year that she had decided to finally wear a wig 13 years after first losing her hair to alopecia, the TV presenter, 47, stepped out on Loose Women to cheers from the audience showcasing long blonde locks.

The incredibly authentic mane featured a plaited strand, leaving the Loose Women panelists in awe of how fantastic she looked.

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant bounced onto the set looking confident, yet became instantly tearful as she received applause from the studio audience.

She immediately grabbed for some tissues, fighting back tears, saying: 'I said, "I’m definitely not going to cry because I’ve got good make-up on!" It feels really nice, but really weird. I keep wanting to do this [flicks hair] all the time.

'I gasped when I saw it!'

Gail continued: 'It reminds me of being young. I feel quite young today.'

Of choosing a blonde wig - rather than going for a pink one as she had previously considered - she said: 'It was kind of just, I wasn’t really entirely sure, I was thinking maybe pink, maybe something different. When I saw this colour it reminded me of being in the ‘90s and I thought, I quite like that. It was fitted for me.
