Police have said the theft of thousands of pounds worth of belongings from the mansion home of comic Paddy McGuinness and his wife Christine took place 'over a matter of weeks' - suggesting someone with access to the house may be involved.
Money and other high-value items have gone missing from the family's sprawling £2million estate in recent weeks, prompting them to go to the police.
The thefts were initially thought to have been the result of a burglary, but police confirmed today that they took place over a long period of time, and they do not believe other homes in the wealthy Cheshire village are at risk.
The police announcement suggests the criminals either had access to McGuinness's home or broke in a number of times.
Neither McGuinness nor his wife have commented.
The couple, who have been married since 2011, live in a £2.1m, seven-bedroom mansion in Cheshire.
They share the home with their three children, twins Penelope and Leo, five and Felicity, two.
It is not known whether the couple were at home of the time of thefts or what items have been stolen.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: 'The victims reported that a number of items, including cash, have been taken from their home over a period of weeks.
'Enquiries in relation to the allegations are ongoing and officers are not appealing for information from the public.'
The force's PC Steve Kaminski said: 'I would like to reassure the community that this is believed to be an isolated incident which has no impact on local residents.'
