The actress wrote: 'So apparently there are two meanings of the word “perineum”, one being the area of the body between the genitals and anus, and the other, the period of time between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
'I thought I had been clear we were celebrating the second but Michael turned up in an impenetrable onesie just in case he was ambushed by an excitable relative.'
The Vacancy star Kate and Michael were in an eight-year relationship spanning from 1995 through 2003, beginning when they were doing the play The Seagull on tour.
They remain on good terms in co-parenting their 19-year-old daughter, Lily, having appeared together in multiple social media posts.
Last month, Kate, who split from director husband Len Wiseman in 2015, was seen kissing English comic Jack Whitehall, 30, in Los Angeles.
The Hollywood actress and Jack were seen in a steamy embrace as they partied the night away at the exclusive Blind Dragon nightclub.
During their date night, Kate was seen relaxing into Jack as he wrapped his arm around her lovingly to hold her close to him.
