Manchester United see £40m bid for full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka rejected by Crystal Palace

Manchester United have had a £40million bid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka rejected by Crystal Palace.

The Old Trafford club are now weighing up whether to make an improved offer for the England Under-21 international.

The offer was made in the last 10 days, but comes nowhere near Palace’s valuation. The Eagles want in-excess of £60million for their talented defender.

United have put a new right-back towards the top of their shopping list with Wan Bissaka made a priority.

Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier is viewed as fall-back option if United can’t lure Wan Bissaka.

Palace don’t want to lose their talented full-back and believe he should have at least one more season at Selhurst Park.

But there is a growing feeling at Palace that it is a matter of when, and not if, he eventually leaves.

And an improved offer would test Palace’s resolve to keep Wan Bissaka, who is said to be happy at in south London.

United’s hopes of signing Wan Bissaka would be helped if Wilfried Zaha stays at Palace.

Zaha has made his intention to leave the Eagles for a Champions League club clear.

But Palace’s £80million price tag will prove prohibitive towards the Ivory Coast winger’s hopes of leaving.
