Juventus finally beat Man Utd and Barcelona to seal signature of Ajax wonderkid De Ligt

Juventus' signing of Ajax wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt is all but confirmed, according to reports in Italy.

De Ligt became the most sought after youngster in the world after a huge breakthrough season with Ajax, and he has attracted heavy interest from Juventus, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Liverpool.

But it is Juventus who have won the race for the 19-year-old Holland centre back's signature.

And according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, only the official announcement is missing.

The report also claims that Ajax believe the deal is done and it is only a matter of time before De Ligt signs on the dotted line for the Serie A giants.

Furthermore, La Gazzetta dello Sport report that De Ligt will become the highest-paid defender in Italy as he gets ready to seal his £63million move.

The Italian newspaper also states that Cristiano Ronaldo played a role in tempting De Ligt become to Turin, where he will be getting ready to feature alongside centre-back stalwarts Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.

The Dutchman will not travel to Ajax's pre-season camp in Austria as he looks to finalise his big-money move.

Meanwhile, Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is hopeful of completing the deal before his side head on their pre-season tour of Asia.

De Ligt shone last season for Ajax, captaining his side to the Eredivisie title and the Champions League semi-finals.
