Man City's Leroy Sane goes off injured in the Community Shield

Manchester City's Leroy Sane went off injured early in the Community Shield match, which may be a worry to Bayern Munich as they close in on a big money deal.

The German champions are close to a move for the German forward, reportedly agreeing a £16.5million-a-year deal, with City expecting to recoup £135million for him.

Sane went chasing after a long ball down the left flank, with Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold in hot pursuit. After a coming together, Sane went down holding his leg, immediately motioning for some medical attention.

The Liverpool full-back appeared to accidentally catch Sane down the back of his foot as he tried to get back goalside, and in addition, Sane seemed to jar his knee against the ground, which may have caused most of the damage.

The doctors had a look at Sane for a couple of minutes before he slowly limped off the pitch and was replaced by Gabriel Jesus.

City boss Pep Guardiola put his arm around him and had a quick chat as the German retreated for more medical attention. He also received a pat on the back from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Moments later, from the resulting free-kick, Raheem Sterling was able to scramble the ball into the back of the net to give Manchester City the lead.

City bought Sane for £37million just three years ago, so are set to do an excellent bit of business if he ends up going to Bayern Munich this summer.
