Sack, prosecute questionable ministers – Group tells Buhari

The Nigerian Citizens Action Group NCAG, has called for the immediate sack, investigation and prosecution of all ministers involved in corruption allegations.

They listed them as Dr. Isa Pantami, Minister for Communication and Digitial Economy, Mallam Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General/Minister for Justice and Senator Godwill Akpabio, the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs.

The NCAG, therefore, gave President Muhammadu Buhari-led government 14 working days, from 14th July, 2020 to sack the affected ministers.

They said they would not hesitate to troop into their respective ministries to eject the public office holders should the presidency delay in acting accordingly within stipulated time frame.
 

Engr. Sabiu A. Lukman, spokesman of the Nigerian Citizen Action Group Nigerian, in a statement issued in Kaduna and made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday, said, “The Citizens Action Group won’t hesitate to troop into their respective ministry to eject these public office holders should the presidency delay in acting accordingly within stipulated time frame.”

The statement added, “We hereby call for immediate sack, investigation and prosecution of these ministers occupying Honorable ministries of Federal Republic of Nigeria on or before 14 working days from this day of press release.”

The NCAG, a coalition of Civil Society Organisations, Youth and Students Groups, said, “We have received with utmost disappointment the unprecedented corruption allegations against the trio, Dr. Isa Pantami, Minister For Communication and Digitial Economy, Mallam Abubakar Malami, the Atoney General/Minister For Justice and H. E Godwill Akpabio, the Minister For Niger Delta Affairs.

“This we consider a breach of trust and confidence reposed on the trio by the President and Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, who appointed them into offices as Honorable Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, respectively.

“These are obvious set back for president Buhari administration’s anti-corruption war, they remain an established clog in the wheel of progress that could have been recorded by this administration to get Nigeria of our dream delivered where corruption in public office will be at minimal if not zero.”

“Nigeria belongs to us all, its greatness is our collective effort just as sanitization of greedy and corrupt elements in government is a joint task,” the group noted.
