RevolutionNow group, students protest electricity, petrol, DSTV hike in Osun

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and #RevolutionNow movement on Tuesday protested hike in petrol price, electricity tariff and cable TV subscriptions among others.

Recall that the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, had earlier announced an increment in the pump price of petrol to N151.56 per litre.

The Coalition of Civil Societies, Osun State and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), had given the Federal Government of Nigeria five days ultimatum to reverse the petrol pump price and electricity tariff, DAILY POST reports.
 

DAILY POST gathered that Coalition of Civil Societies have conducted series of meeting, planning for the nationwide protest after the five days ultimatum issued to Buhari which will elapse on Tuesday.

The protesters, who converged on the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Old Garage, terminated the protest at Ola-Iya junction, Osogbo.
