Republicans Call For Immediate Congressional Investigation Into “Integrity Of The 2020 Election”

In the latest development to the 2020 election fiasco in the United States, Republican lawmakers in the House of Representatives have called for an immediate Congressional investigation into the “integrity of the 2020 election.”

Representative Jim Jordan, the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, and Representative James Comer, the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, sent a letter to the Democratic Chairs of the two committees demanding the investigation. The letter was sent to Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Oversight panel Chair Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday evening.

The two congressmen alleged that the 2020 election was full of chaos and have called for oversight hearings into “troubling reports of irregularities and improprieties” in order for the American people to have faith in the integrity of the election.

Representatives Nadler and Maloney are yet to respond to the allegations.

President Donald Trump has refused to concede defeat after the media projected that former Vice President Joe Biden won the election by a margin of 306 electoral votes to 232 electoral votes.

The President has alleged that there was massive electoral fraud and has vowed to overturn the election. However, President Trump has lost a number of lawsuits in which he alleged that there irregularities.

On Tuesday, President Trump fired Christopher Krebs, the head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, after he maintained that the vote had not been rigged.

A statement on 12 November by a group of officials posted on Mr. Krebs’ Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency (Cisa) website described the election as “the most secure in American history”.
