Two More Top ZANU PF And Government Officials Die Of Covid-19


 Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Dr Jetro Ndlovu and former ZANU PF legislator for Mutasa North constituency Mr Luke Masamvu have both succumbed to Covid-19.

Confirming the death of Ambassador Ndlovu, The News Hawks confirmed his death on their Twitter account saying:

Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Dr Jetro Ndlovu has died. Ndlovu died of Covid-19 this morning, family friends have confirmed.

The death of Mr Masamvu was confirmed on Facebook by Deputy Minister of Youth, Sport, Art and Recreation, Tinoda Machakaire who wrote: 

I was really saddened to learn of the untimely passing on of the Former Hon MP for Hauna and Businessman CDE LP Masamvu.

I am praying for the family at this trying time. Losing a loved father is not easy at all. The wound never heals. My prayer for the family is that they find the strength to keep going.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

He died in Harare last night from COVID-19 related complications, he was 64.

However, official government sources are yet to confirm the developments.

To date, Covid-19 has claimed the lives of three sitting government ministers that include Manicaland provincial affairs minister Ellen Gwaradzimba, Foreign Affairs Minister, retired Lieutenant General Sibusiso Moyo. and Transport and Infrastructure Development Minister Joel Biggie Matiza.

Other notable top Zanu Pf and government officials who succumbed to the pandemic include former Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Commissioner-General, Major-General Paradzai Zimondi, former Education minister Aeneas Chigwedere and ex-Zanu PF MP Christopher Chigumba who all died in January and former Minister of Agriculture Rt Air Marshal Perence Shiri who died last year.
