Ahmed Joda: Nigeria’s situation hopeful, many nation builders in the making – Atiku

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has said Nigeria is a land of hope, with many nation builders coming up.

Atiku, who spoke in the Adamawa State capital, Yola, while on a condolence visit to the home of the late Ahmed Joda, said specifically that many Ahmed Jodas are being bred.

Ahmed Joda, a former technocrat widely acknowledged to have contributed greatly to unify the country in times of serious threats to national unity, died last week in Yola.

Atiku Abubakar, addressing newsmen immediately after meeting with Joda’s family, said the late statesman helped greatly in nurturing Nigeria’s oneness.

“Ahmed Joda spent his life in service to this country. He is a man of immense experience and has all his life brought together various parts of this country to understand ourselves and to unify the country.

“He is never known to be either a champion of division or discrimination whether on ethnicity or religious basis. He is a unifier and he tries to unify people wherever there is a disagreement.
”What I can bear witness is that in many hot spots, he tries to make sure that there is an amicable resolution of whatever disagreement there may be,” Atiku said.

He urged all grieving Nigerians to accept that Ahmed Joda lived an exemplary life and the country is blessed with his likes to continue his crusade for unity.

“We are sad that he is gone but we have hope. There are many Ahmed Jodas in the making,” Atiku said.
