Emulate El-Rufai’s electoral revolution – Kaduna Speaker tasks INEC, SIECOM

The Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, has enjoined the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and State Independent Electoral Commissions (SIECOM) to match Governor Nasir el-Rufai in conducting transparent, free, fair and credible elections.

He noted that the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) model should be used to further strengthen and entrench democracy in Nigeria.

The Speaker, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, made the observation during the swearing-in ceremony of elected council chairmen in the state.

Zailani further explained that he met with the elected chairmen from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and they were excited about the transparent nature of the polls.

The Speaker said that he told them that they can see how justified the local government election was that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government provided a level playing ground for all political parties that participated in the just concluded local government election.

The Speaker enjoined all citizens in the state to contribute their quota towards ensuring the success of Malam Nasiru el-Rufai’s administration.

He opined that the administration has done a lot in developing the state and assured that the Kaduna State Assembly is ever ready to continue to support the present administration with everything humanly possible to further develop the state
