JUST-IN: Tinubu cuts dialysis cost in Federal Hospital to ₦12,000

President Bola Tinubu has slashed the cost of kidney dialysis in federal hospitals from ₦50,000 to ₦12,000. This initiative aims to bring relief to thousands of Nigerians struggling with kidney-related illnesses who can't afford the high treatment costs.

The program will start at ten public hospitals and later expand to federal medical centers and teaching hospitals nationwide.

According to presidential spokesperson Daniel Bwala, this move showcases Tinubu's commitment to affordable healthcare.

This isn't Tinubu's first effort to improve healthcare accessibility; he previously approved free caesarean sections for pregnant women in federal hospitals to reduce maternal deaths. The president's recent decision is expected to widen dialysis access nationwide before the end of the year.
