Diddy Sentenced to Over Four Years in Prison for Prostitution-Related Charges

American rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to four years and two months in prison after being found guilty on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.

The 55-year-old Bad Boy Records founder received the sentence on Friday at a New York federal courthouse from Judge Arun Subramanian, who also imposed five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine, the maximum allowable.

The ruling far exceeded the lighter sentence Combs had requested. He appeared visibly stunned as the judge referenced his children during the proceedings. Turning to his family, he reportedly said: “I’m sorry” and “I love you.”

According to prosecutors, Combs arranged flights for women, girlfriends, and male sex workers for encounters he allegedly called “freak-offs.” He was arrested in September 2024 after more than 120 accusers, including a minor, accused him of kidnapping, blackmail, physical abuse, and prostitution-related crimes.

In July 2025, a jury convicted him on two counts of transportation for prostitution, linked to incidents involving women identified as Ventura and Jane. However, he was acquitted of more serious charges of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, as well as racketeering conspiracy.

Federal prosecutors had sought an 11-year sentence, describing Combs as “unrepentant” and arguing that he left victims living in fear. His defense team, by contrast, had asked for a 14-month sentence, equal to the time he had already spent in custody since his arrest.

Combs has been held for the past 14 months at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, a facility notorious for its harsh conditions. Judge Subramanian earlier denied him bail, ruling that his team failed to prove he posed “no danger to any person,” a key requirement for release before sentencing.
