Bauchi state government on Friday constituted a six-member Petroleum Product Monitoring Committee as
part of efforts to address the lingering problem of scarcity of petroleum products in the state.
The setting up of the committee is contained in a statement, signed by the Permanent Secretary (Political
Affairs), Malam Mahmoud Garba, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
It said the committee was to monitor the procurement, distribution and sales of petroleum products in the
state, as well as ensure that there was no artificial scarcity.
The committee had also been saddled with the responsibility of ensuring that the products were sold at
official pump price and prevent the dispensing of the products to individuals in Jeri cans and gallons.
