Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari "forced" him to run for governorship in the state.
According to a Naij report, El-Rufai disclosed how Buhari coerced him to contest the governorship as revenge for his convincing of Buhari to run for President.
“If he had not asked me to run for the governorship, I wouldn’t have stood before you today as the governor of Kaduna State,” El-Rufai said.
The Governor attributed his success at the polls to the card reader introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
El-Rufai maintained that without the card reader, members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) would have robbed him of his victory.
The Kaduna Governor has since described Buhari as a man of integrity, making special note of the fact that the President's name was not mentioned in the Panama Papers scandal.
