So sad. You may not have known it, but Kim Kardashian, 35, was actually friendly with Will Smith, the ex-NFL player who was tragically shot and killed in New Orleans on April 9, and she’s obviously wrecked over hearing the news of his death. Read her sweet message to the late 34-year-old and his wife, Racquel Smith, 34 here.
“My heart breaks for my sweet friend Rockie. I’m deeply saddened by your loss,” the reality star tweeted along side a photo of herself and Racquel. “Sending so many prayers to her & her family! May the Lord surround her & her children with love and protection during this devastating time. Will, you were an angel to your family on earth and you will continue to be in the life after. May God bless you!”
Will and Racquel were involved in a small car accident at around 11:30 p.m. on April 9, when a Hummer hit the back of their vehicle.
Will and the Hummer’s driver “exchanged words” and the suspect, who was later identified as Cardell Hayes, 28, took out a handgun and shot Will “multiple times.” Will was pronounced dead, and Racquel, who was shot in the leg twice, was rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Cardell was booked on April 10 and charged with second-degree murder. He was previously arrested in Aug. 2010 for illegal carrying of a weapon, illegal possession of codeine and possession of drug paraphernalia, and served six months in prison in 2014.Sending so many prayers to her & her family! So what’s the connection between Kim and the Smiths? She was dating Reggie Bush when he was playing on the New Orleans Saints with Will, which is likely how she developed such a close friendship with Racquel.
