Buhari appoints 2 new Supreme Court Judges

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent the names of Justice Sidi Dauda Bage and Justice Paul Adamu to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation as Justices of the Supreme Court.

These names were included into a letter sent by the President to Bukola Saraki, Senate president.

The letter was read on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday.

The President sought expeditious attention of the Senate.

The two Judges had been recommended for appointment as Justices of the Supreme Court by the National Judicial Council.

Their nominations came amid a clampdown on allegedly corrupt judges in the High, Appeal and the Supreme Courts, by the State Security Service.
