..... and then tried to chat up her psychologist is jailed for only THREE years
A HEARTBROKEN family stormed out of court after a young mum who necked two bottles of cider was caged for just three years for leaving her baby daughter alone to die in the bathtub.
“Volatile and immature” Jasmine Gregory could be freed in just 18 months despite letting 14-month-old Robyn Andrews-English drown after she did the washing up because she forgot where the tot was.
The 24-year-old was caged for three years today after jurors found her guilty of manslaughter earlier this week.
Devastated family members stormed out the court as the sentence was handed down. The maximum sentence for manslaughter is life.
One of the investigators involved in the trial said that the baby’s in-laws were very upset with the leniency of the sentence which meant she could be free in just 18 months.
The jury was told during the trial that Gregory was told not to leave her child alone in a bath just hours before the tot drowned.
Judge Ian Pringle said: “On August 7, 2014, you were visited by a social worker. Life was tough for you at that time and your partner, the father of Robyn, had disengaged and you were a single parent.
“You decided to give Robyn a bath. You ran the bath for her and placed her in. It was an adult bath with no support and no special seat for her.
