US Governor Honours Nigerian Singer, Declares October 6 “Wizkid Day”
Popular Nigerian singer Wizkid now appears to be the biggest export in the history of the country’s music industry, as he officially has a day named after him in Minnesota, called ”Wizkid day.”
The afrobeats star got recently honoured in the United States by the governor of Minnesota, Mark Dayton, when the 6th of October was declared Wizkid Day.
This event occurred at the #MadeInLagos concert held in the state.
According to a post made available on his Twitter page, this feat was achieved as he became the first African artist to ever sell out the Skyway Theatre in Minnesota, US on Saturday, October 6, 2018.
Making reference to several historic feats made by the artiste in the proclamation, the artiste became the first African artiste to sell out Skyway Theatre.
