Balut: Can You Eat This? (Pictures)

 


It is called balut .

It is fertilized duck egg (embryos), usually incubated for a period of about 17-21 days, before it is cooked.
A popular street food, commonly eaten (with salt) in the Philippines.
It is high in protein.

To eat, the top of the egg is gently cracked and peeled a bit, the broth inside slurped up, then the rest of egg peeled and eaten (its entire content).

I got to know about it through a Filipino series I watched sometime ago.

So, can you dare to eat balut?
