Former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal has been released on administrative bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after being questioned over alleged financial misconduct.
The EFCC is investigating Tambuwal over the withdrawal of approximately ₦189 billion during his tenure as governor.
According to an EFCC source, Tambuwal was granted bail after providing the necessary information, and he'll be released after perfecting his bail conditions.
EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale confirmed the development, but declined to comment further. Tambuwal had appeared at the EFCC Abuja headquarters on Monday, August 12, 2025, in response to the commission's invitation.
