- Tinubu attended the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama, Japan, from August 20-22.
- He participated in plenary sessions, bilateral talks with world leaders, and meetings with Japanese companies invested in Nigeria.
- Following TICAD9, Tinubu will travel to Brasília for a state visit from August 24-25 at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
- During the visit, Tinubu will hold a bilateral meeting with President Lula da Silva and attend a business forum with Brazilian investors.
