Bankroll Fresh is dead. The 28-year-old rapper was a victim of a shootout that went down outside Street Execs Studios in Atlanta on March 4. He died while in transit to the hospital.
“On 03/04/2016 Zone 2 units responded to 1740 Defoor Plaza on a person shot call. As units responded, they observed a large crowd of people fleeing the location. Shortly after units arrived, it was learned that at least one victim was shot and was transported away from the scene in an unknown vehicle. Dispatch then reported that there was a victim of a gunshot wound at Hughes Spalding hospital.
It was determined that the gunshot victim at Hughes Spalding received his injuries at 1740 Defoor Plaza,” Officer Hannah of the APD told HollywoodLife.com. “At about 2357 hours, homicide was notified that the victim had succumbed from his injuries. Homicide units responded to the location and processed the scene. Homeland Security also responded and recovered video evidence. Investigator Benton will be the lead investigator on this case.”
Police identified the victim as Trentavious White, also known as Bankroll Fresh, Lt. Charles Hampton with the Atlanta Police Department told Atlanta’s 11 Alive. Authorities responded to the studio at around 11 p.m. on March 4 and found a wounded Bankroll.
The outlet’s crews on the scene reported that at least 50 shell casings were discovered outside the studio. Police don’t believe anyone else was hurt or killed in the shootout. Police have not arrested any suspects as of yet. A possible motive is still unclear at this time.
After the news broke that Bankroll had died, his friends and fellow musicians mourned his death on social media. “RIP Bankroll Fresh” began trending on Twitter. He will clearly be missed.
Neighbors of the Street Execs Studios told FOX 5 they’ve been concerned since the recording studio opened. One neighbor admitted that he’s complained about loud music and has been worried about crime in the area because of the recording studio. The studio’s owner promised the neighbor better security.
The Atlanta rapper was best known for his Life of a Hot Boy mixtape in 2014. He worked with Lil Wayne, Juvevile and Turk for a remix of his single, “Hot Boy.” He teamed up with 2 Chainz to release his self-titled mixtape on Thanksgiving in 2015.
