A MODEL has landed a huge brand deal after cruel casting agents warned her that her ‘hips were too big.’
Blonde bombshell Iskra Lawrence has been branded ‘plus size’ because she is curvier than the traditional fashion model.
After being rejected by agencies for not conforming to standard model measurements, Iskra landed an incredible deal with lingerie line Aerie.
The American Eagle brand aren’t shy to showcase beautiful curves and has refused to alter any of the models' bodies.
In 2014, Aerie’s brand president, Jennifer Foyle commented: “The purpose of ‘Aerie Real’ is to communicate there is no need to retouch beauty, and to give young women of all shapes and sizes the chance to discover amazing styles that work best for them.”
Even though the images that Aerie release don’t necessarily correspond with the ‘perfect’ body type displayed on Victoria’s Secret adverts, the snaps are very relatable.
Since Iskra signed the lingerie contract, her social media presence has boomed.
The inspirational model regularly posts motivational and body positive messages to her 1.2 million Instagram followers.
Iskra admits that even though she can still be self-conscious about her thighs, she won’t let it hold her back.
She explained: “There are still days I get self-conscious about my thighs.
“Society tells us over and over that beauty is ‘flawless perfection’... but we should be proud of our ‘real’ unretouched bodies.”
The ‘plus size’ role model is also involved in a number of different body confidence campaigns and is also fighting for big brands to release more sizes of clothes.
She reassures her fans that it’s okay to be “perfectly imperfect”, posting photos of her incredible figure to social media without any filter or airbrushing.
