Kian Egan's annoyance over Brian McFadden's new side project Boyzlife, which sees him teaming up with former Boyzone member Keith Duffy for a new musical endeavour, has left the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here winner, 'scratching his head'.
The musician told 98FM that he found the off-shoot aggravating since the two man bands had planned to unite for a tour in the future.
Kian said: 'It was really unfair on the fans that everybody thought that this was what’s happening, you know that Westlife and Boyzone were getting together to do a tour.
'From the perspective of someone who spent 15 years in Westlife it was really aggravating,' he continued.
The coach on The Voice Of Ireland seemed genuinely stunned at Brian's plans to form the group continuing: 'It’s a bit of an odd one – a member of Westlife who left the band after four years decides to use half the name for whatever it is that they’re doing.'
Brian, 35, however, was quick to fire back and quipped on The Late Late Show: 'I was actually in Westlife for more than four years but maths was never Kian’s thing in fairness.'
After forming in 1998, Westlife went on to sell 11.1million albums worldwide, with Brian leaving six years later and the rest of group disbanding in 2012 after continuing as a four piece.
Brian found himself in a highly publicised romance with former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona for two years, resulting in two children.
He also went on to enjoy success Down Under by penning a few hits and becoming a judge on Australia's Got Talent.
Elaborating on RTE tonight, Brian revealed that the new show will tour Ireland and the UK with a theatre show about being in a boyband.
Speaking of the misconceived notion of fans thinking it would be a similar endeavour to McBusted - a partnership of McFly and Busted - Brian explained: 'A lot of people probably did get confused because a lot of people probably thought we were doing a McBusted'.
His new career partner, former Boyzone member Keith Duffy backed him up by mentioning, 'At the end of the day myself and Brian are after teaming up to do a show and talk about 20 years in the business.
'All the performances we do will be in a Hilton Hotel all across the UK and Ireland.' He added hastily: 'A saucer of milk for Kian please'.
