#PrinceWilliam, Kate Middleton and #PrinceHarry join the #Queen for joint public appearance at Commonwealth Day event

The service, the largest annual inter-faith gathering in the United Kingdom, will celebrate the 2016 Commonwealth theme of inclusivity

The Queen has made a rare joint public appearance with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry as she arrived at a service held at Westminster Abbey to mark Commonwealth Day.

Kate looked resplendent in a £2,500 grey coat by Erdem and an unusually large hat by 90-year-old John Boyd, based in Knightsbridge, as she walked to the abbey with her husband and brother-in-law.

The service, the largest annual inter-faith gathering in the United Kingdom, will celebrate the 2016 Commonwealth theme of inclusivity.

It will be broadcast live on BBC One for the first time in celebration of Her Majesty's lifetime commitment to the 'family' in the year of her 90th Birthday.

There will also be a pre-recorded message from the Queen, who will use her annual address to encourage members to welcomes those 'who feel excluded in all walks of life'.
The Queen, who is head of the Commonwealth, said: “This is an essential ingredient of belonging to the Commonwealth: the willingness to share, to exchange and to act for the common good.

“By including others, drawing on collective insights, knowledge and resources, and thinking and working together, we lay the foundations of a harmonious and progressive society.

“The greater the diversity of those included in such a shared enterprise, the greater the gains.”

The Queen’s remarks are likely to be closely scrutinised coming at a time when her views have been under the spotlight.
