Was #Superman star Dean Cain responsible for #Olympic hero Rebecca Adlington’s marriage falling apart?

SWIMMER Becky Adlington’s shock marriage breakdown may have been sparked by Superman, The Sun can reveal.

The ex-Olympian’s sudden split from fellow swimmer Harry Needs after 18 months of marriage left friends stunned.

But US actor Dean Cain — best known for his TV portrayal of the superhero — has become a close pal since they teamed up for Channel 4’s The Jump in Austria this year.

Insiders said Dean, 49, was a shoulder for 27-year-old Becky to cry on after she was ruled out by injury — and that they regularly partied together.

Dean, who starred with Teri Hatcher in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, also flew to London last week to meet up with Becky.

The pair were seen leaving the Charlotte Street Hotel in the West End before having a coffee and shopping in Oxford Street.

A source said: “Harry and Becky’s friends didn’t see the divorce coming.”


Becky said at the £500,000 home she shared with Harry in Romiley, Greater Manchester: “I don’t want to comment.”
