Poor Calvin Harris! The 31-year-old DJ, and Taylor Swift‘s boyfriend, was the victim of a dangerous car crash in Los Angeles on the night of May 20. Calvin was the passenger in a Cadillac SUV that was reportedly slammed by a convertible driven by a 16-year-old girl around 11:00pm. His injuries were so severe that an ambulance whisked him to the hospital! Is he going to be okay?
The force of the gruesome crash left Calvin with severe facial lacerations, according to a report from TMZ. The extent of the injury was so terrible that paramedics demanded he get to the hospital as soon as possible to get fixed up. But when Calvin got to the hospital, he reportedly had a bit of a meltdown. Wheeled in from the ambulance on a gurney, the DJ asked for a private hospital room. When told there weren’t any available, he hopped down and bolted from the hospital “against medical advice.”
It’s unclear if Calvin had gotten his injuries addressed at the hospital before leaving, or if he left still in bad shape. Hopefully Taylor took him to the best doctor in town to get stitched up!
The teenage girl’s VW bug convertible was packed to the brim with friends, and she hit Calvin’s SUV after crossing the center line while the DJ was heading to the airport to appear at Omnia night club in Las Vegas.
The force of that impact was so great that one of the girls was ejected from the car. She was taken to the hospital with a broken pelvis; the driver was taken in, as well. It’s unclear what happened to the driver of Calvin’s car, or the extent of anyone else’s injuries. The details on this incident are still being made available.
Calvin’s reps confirmed the accident via a statement on the artist’s Facebook page: Adam’s transport was involved in a collision this evening on the way to the airport. As a result he will be unable to perform at Omnia tonight. He has been examined by doctors and told to rest for a few days.
