Controversial governor Fayose takes a swipe at #Buhari

Controversial Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has taken a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that he has ruined the country’s economy in the one year that he has been in office.

According to Daily Post, Fayose blamed Buhari and his All Progressives Congress (APC) over the states' failure to pay workers' salaries.

He said millions of jobs had been lost and prices of basic commodities had shot up.

"The reward Buhari gave to Nigerians for electing [him] as president was to increase petrol pump price by N58.50 and get the Vice President Professor Yemii Osinbajo to justify the increment by saying Nigeria was broke," Fayose was quoted as saying.

Fayose's remarks came as Buhari marked his first year in office.

According to his speech posted on The Sun, Buhari maintained that his administration had done a lot to change Nigeria.

"From day one, we purposely set out to correct our condition, to change Nigeria," Buhari was quoted as saying.
