#Liverpool unbeaten in #European finals v #Spanish clubs, #Sevilla unbeaten in all European finals... who’ll blink first? - TheSun

GOING into tonight’s Europa League final between Liverpool and Sevilla, one thing is for certain — a record will be broken.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds beat Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal to name a few, while Unai Emery’s Sevilla got past Basel, Athletic Bilbao and Shakhtar Donetsk, but here’s the thing...

One team will have to break a record to get their hands on the silverware — and bag themselves a lucrative spot in next season’s Champions League.

That’s right, the Premier League side have won a whopping eight of their 11 European finals — including a 100 per cent record against Spanish sides in finals.

Meanwhile, their La Liga counterparts have played in just four European finals... And won them all.

On top of that, all four have been in the last decade, with Sevilla winning back-to-back titles in 2005-06 and 2006-07, then again in the past two seasons.
