Fake pastor defiles woman during spiritual deliverance

A fake Lagos-based pastor has reportedly raped a woman on the pretense that he was helping her spiritually, Naij reports.

The suspect, Wasiu Lawal, was brought before a Lagos court on Wednesday after being slapped with a rape charge following the incident.

The accused, who claimed to be a pastor, native doctor and Muslim cleric, is alleged to have violated his 38-year-old victim while "praying" for her.

The victim has accused the man of drugging her, while revealing that she was kept at his house until the day following the incident.

The accused ha since pleaded not guilty to the charge, while being granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties, Vanguard reports.

The case has since been adjourned to September 14 for mention.
