Marriage Sermon Backlash: Pastor Adeboye Reacts On Twitter

The founder and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E. A. Adeboye has reacted on social media to the string of backlashes that ensued after his recent sermon about marriage.

In one of his sermons at the yearly convention of the RCCG, Pastor Adeboye had told men not to marry a woman who could not cook or pray for a minimum of an hour.

He also cautioned women not marry a man who had no job or who could not show concrete evidence of his means of livelihood.

The admonishment was greeted with cheers from a section of social media netizens, while other hurled offensive words of utter resentment at him.

However, in response to the backlash, the cleric, on his Twitter account, on Tuesday night, said:

“My message are not for everybody. So, I plead with you, ask God to speak to you specifically.”
