Many Nigerians on Wednesday overwhelmingly backed Enugu Catholic priest, Ejike Mbaka's strong criticism of President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration as the country suffers from poverty, Punch reports.
News24 Nigeria reported yesterday that Mbaka lashed out at Buhari and his leadership of the country saying that Nigerians would not vote for him in 2019 if they continued to suffer under his leadership.
Mbaka who had been one of Buhari's most vocal supporters in the 2015 presidential elections has now surprisingly attacked President Buhari for what he sees as lack of leadership.
Many took to social media however to mock Mbaka for his initial backing of Buhari, saying that he should have been aware that Buhari was not the 'messiah' the country needed before backing him during the 2015 presidential election campaign.
The cleric faulted Buhari for appointing the wrong people as he now was being misled on the difficulties Nigerians face.
